Grades
IAP sends your grades to the Registrar only after course equivalents have been approved, and your grades and credits are in. For year participants, this means that first semester grades to do not appear on your transcript until we have your grades for both semesters.
Once we have received grades from abroad, we will send you a copy of your study abroad grade/equivalents report.
-
If there are no errors in your grades, credits, or equivalents, sign the report and return it to 250 Bascom Hall within one month following the date of the grade/equivalency report letter. The sooner you return the form, the sooner your grades will be posted to your transcript.
-
If we send you the report during the summer, you will have a month after the beginning of the fall semester to sign the form.
-
If there are problems, do not sign your grade/equivalents report. Contact an IAP advisor regarding the problem(s). You must contact an IAP advisor within the month following the date of the grade/equivalents report.
-
Changes cannot be made to course equivalents once your grades have been posted to your official UW-Madison transcript.
-
Once IAP receives your signed grade/equivalents report, please allow 14 days before you request an official UW-Madison transcript since it takes a few days for the grades to be posted on your transcript
-
If we do not receive your signed grade/equivalents report within a month but all your equivalents, grades and credits are in, we reserve the right to forward all the information to the Registrar’s office so that your transcript can be completed in a timely manner.
Transcripts
IAP staff cannot order official UW-Madison transcripts or forward official UW-Madison transcripts on a student’s behalf. Contact the Office of the Registrar for information on how to obtain a transcript:.
NON-UW MADISON STUDENTS: In order for UW-Madison to send your
official transcript to your home institution, you will need
to make a request to the Office
of the Registrar.
