POSTECH was founded in 1986 as the first research-oriented university in Korea. In just a few years, POSTECH’s bold moves have propelled it to become one of Asia’s top universities and a university with prominent growth potential. POSTECH strives to become a world-leading university in the pursuit of excellence in education and research.

Located in the city of Pohang, the 400-acre, park-like campus is home to the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory and minutes away from POSCO, one of the largest steelmaking companies in the world. POSTECH has come a long way in its short history to become globally recognized as one of Asia's premier universities and among the most selective, highly ranked research universities in Korea. While at POSTECH, you will be able to take a wide range of science and engineering coursework. You will also have the opportunity to become involved in various research projects with POSTECH's faculty and staff.

Exchange students headed to POSTECH have the opportunity to be nominated for the Global Postechian Exchange Scholarship (GPES), which provides a monthly stipend as well as numerous activities that will help students get involved in daily life at POSTECH.
